Sparta, Wisconsin – Team Mathews had another great event at the ASA Mathews Archery Pro/Am located in Metropolis, Illinois claiming 6 podiums overall and set a new ASA single day record.
Mathews’ newest pro, James Lutz broke his own Known Pro 40 target record of 60-up with an impressive 66-up finish. Despite the extremely humid conditions last weekend and only having a week to dial in his new Mathews bow, Lutz managed to secure first place in the Known Pro division. Joining him at the top of the leaderboards, Team Shooter Jeff Hopkins took home top honors in the Senior Pro division shooting the Mathews Phase4 33.
Teammate Brent Platt also had an exciting event in the Known Pro division. Platt set a new ASA single day record on Saturday centering 10 out of 19 twelve rings, finishing the round with an incredible 238 out of a possible 240 20 Target Score.
“Truly phenomenal shooting by both Lutz and Platt at this event given the challenging conditions,” stated Derek Phillips, Mathews Pro Staff Manager. “Excitement is already building for the upcoming Classic with Shooter of the Year on the line for a number of the Mathews Team.”
