Team Krieghoff Takes Top Honors at U.S. Open Skeet Championship

Michael Peterson’s near-perfect 399/400 HOA win highlighted the 2023 U.S. Open Skeet Championship. Confident after a string of successful tournaments, Mike focused on making the shoot-offs and going for the win. Ultimately, the lone 399 he posted landed him unchallenged at the top of the leaderboard and he claimed the HOA Champion title outright.

“To win the U.S. Open has been on my bucket list,” said Mike. “I’ve been able to capture two individual gun titles over the years, but HOA has always been the goal. The new format makes it another challenge altogether, and waiting for results can be nerve-racking.”

Mike finished Runner-up in the .410 after a three-way 100×100 tie. Teammate Alessandro Vitale posted one of the perfect scores and finished 3rd in the event.

Krieghoff shooters Houston Deshotels and Sam Armstrong put Krieghoff on the Doubles podium. After a seven-way shoot-off, Houston placed Runner-up and Sam 3rd.

Krieghoff Lady shooter Lindsay Plesko took Runner-up honors in the 20- and 28-gauge events.
