MADISON, Miss. –– Gold Tip®, an industry leader in carbon arrows and bolts, along with Bee Stinger?, maker of the most advanced line of stabilizers and side bars for bowhunting and target archery, congratulates team archers for strong performances at the second leg of the International Bowhunting Organization (IBO) National Triple Crown which took place June 16-18 at 2 Mile Run County Park in Franklin, Pennsylvania. At this year’s match, team archers swept first and second place in both the Semi-Pro and Senior Pro Divisions.
More than 800 skilled competitors and tough, mountainous courses couldn’t stop Gold Tip and Bee Stinger archers from showing up in a big way. Leading the charge was semi-pro Mason Dowell, who shot the highest score for the first day on the Pro courses and finished the weekend with the win in the Semi-Pro division. Meanwhile, long time staffer Dale Jones took home the second-place spot on the Semi-Pro podium.
In the Senior Pro, staff manager Tim Gillingham continued his dominant performance after winning the first leg of the Triple Crown. Trailing by seven points going into the second day, Gillingham finished strong on the last ten targets to give himself a two-point lead going into the shoot-off, where he sealed the deal and took home the win. Teammate Harold Cogar placed second.
“Harold shot amazing all weekend with his Series 22s,” Gillingham said. “It took a lot for me to catch up to him late on the second day.”
Cogar and his father Harold Cogar Senior are Gold Tip dealers in Shinnston, West Virginia and are both top level competitors in 3D archery.
