South Carolina S3DA Hosts Outdoor Target Regional

Williamsburg, KY – The Midlands HEAT archery team hosted an Outdoor Target Regional tournament for South Carolina S3DA at the Barr Road Sports Complex in Lexington, South Carolina. The Barr Road Sports Complex Director, Erin Chinners along with Midlands Archery Center Coaches Indy and Teresa Deliz have been instrumental in the growth of the South Carolina S3DA program. The staff at the Midlands Archery Center have created an atmosphere of making every single person that walks through the doors feel like they are part of one big passionate community. Archers from nine S3DA teams participated in this event to qualify for the South Carolina S3DA Outdoor Target State Championship.

South Carolina State Coordinator, Sheila Tadlock, said, “This was an amazing event! The South Carolina S3DA program would not be where it is today without the support from these amazing individuals. The Barr Road Sports Complex is an amazing venue, and the staff always do their best to keep things running smoothly. Erin Chinners is accommodating to our growing need for facility space for our youth archers. I am excited to work with Midlands Archery Center, Presbyterian College, and many others to offer our archers even more opportunities for the 2024 competition season.”

“When Sheila Tadlock, South Carolina S3DA State Coordinator, contacted us regarding the possibility of hosting a tournament, we immediately said yes! We have been involved with S3DA for the past four years and we take any opportunity we can to help increase the program footprint, from hosting 3D and outdoor target tournaments, to hopefully hosting indoor target in the future. The S3DA program provides archery scholarship opportunities which allowed one of our top archers, Andrew Thompson, to be blessed to receive an archery scholarship and attend Lindenwood University. The support we get from the State Coordinator and many others within the program is fantastic,” stated Indy Deliz, Coach for Midlands Archery Center.
