The Hillsdale College Shotgun Team hosted its annual Chargers Classic on Saturday, August 24. A portion of the proceeds from the event, which was a registered NSCA Shoot, will go towards operations for the Shotgun Team.
“I look forward to this event every year,” said Head Shotgun Coach Jordan Hintz. “It is a great opportunity for people to meet — and compete against — our national championship-winning Shotgun Team.”
Participants could compete in 100 target Sporting Clays, 50 target Super Sporting, and 50 target 5-Stand, as well as the Chargers Challenge and a Flurry. The event also included games, prizes, giveaways, and a ring ceremony for the Chargers’ ACUI/SCTP Division II Team High Overall championships.
The following trophies/medals were awarded:
- The Chargers Champion: competitor with the highest total score from the 200 targets offered
- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall and 1st in each class in Sporting Clays
- 1st Lady, Junior, and Veteran in Sporting Clays
- 1st overall in 5-Stand
- 1st overall in Super Sporting
- Highest score in Chargers Challenge

About the John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center
The Halter Center is a state-of-the-art shooting facility located five miles from the Hillsdale College campus. Opened in 2008, the Center aims to introduce individuals to shooting sports and encourage interest across all levels of experience. Hillsdale College has been the home of the USA Shooting National Team since 2019 and has hosted USA Shooting Junior Olympic Trap and Skeet development camps and championships.
