Outdoor Stewards Provides $226,000 in Free Research to Outdoor Industry on Giving Tuesday

Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation (OSCF), a 501c3 non-profit organization that partners with wildlife agencies, industry, media and NGOs to utilize research-based communications and engagement programs that recruit the next generation of Hunters, Anglers, Trappers and Shooters (HATS), and promotes the fact that HATS are primary stewards and funders of land, fish and wildlife conservation in America, has flipped the script on Giving Tuesday.

While most non-profit organizations are asking for your donations on Giving Tuesday, OSCF disrupts that model and gives the outdoor industry the gift of free research. “Without solid data, it is hard to make reliable business decisions which is precisely why Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation is building a free knowledge library as a resource to the entire outdoor industry” noted OSCF’s Executive Director, Jim Curcuruto.

Among the research titles available for complimentary download (year-round) at www.OutdoorStewards.org are;

  • Americans’ Attitudes Towards Legal, Regulated Fishing, Target Shooting, Hunting and Trapping”.
  • Proliferation of Hunting with AR-Platform/Modern Sporting Rifles”.
  • Native Americans Perceptions of, and Participation in Hunting, Trapping, Target Shooting and Fishing”.

Future research reports that will be posted for free include:

  • How to Reactivate Non-Participating Firearms Owners”.
  • Determining Why Cultural Acceptance of Hunting, Fishing and Target Shooting Has Declined”.
  • Measuring the Importance of Youth Fishing Programs to Future Participation”,
  • Best Practices for Welcoming New and Diverse Target Shooters”.

Ever changing consumer trends and purchasing behaviors coupled with outside factors such as legislation and national elections will make 2024 a challenging year for the outdoor industry. OSCF communications, programs and research have been developed to facilitate growing participation and sales in the hunting, fishing trapping and target shooting markets.

In addition to providing valuable research, Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation manages a variety of research-based programs such as: Fill A Bag While Filling Your TagCome With!Connecting with Conservation and the Outdoor Industry Communication Council that shine a positive light on HATS and the outdoor industry.
