British performance clothing and equipment brand, Montane, has announced the launch of PETRICHOR TECHNOLOGY™, a 100% waterproof 3-layer fabric that sets the standard for PFAS-free protection for high-output activities outside: ‘Ultimate breathability, guaranteed shelter’.
Developed by the textile experts at Montane, using advanced construction techniques, PETRICHOR TECHNOLOGY™ will be introduced as part of the AW24 collection in their Cetus Lite and Torren jackets, optimised for moving fast and light in the mountains.
The new technology provides breathable performance with its 3-layer construction; a windproof, non-porous hydrophilic membrane that transports water vapour and moisture away from the body, a 100% recycled Nylon 21D Ripstop face fabric, and a durable Tricot lining. The result is a fabric that manages the microclimate of the wearer to work harder in extreme conditions while delivering unrestricted freedom of movement.
Every aspect of PETRICHOR’S lightweight construction has been considered to reduce its environmental impact with the design team selecting recycled materials, a PFAS-free membrane, and PFC-free DWR. Montane’s new Cetus Lite and Torren jackets, which use PETRICHOR, embody the Timeless Design principles of Montane with an aesthetic that will stand the test of time.

PETRICHOR TECHNOLOGY™ will be available to consumers as part of the new collection. The Cetus Lite Jacket will be available for purchase from 6th August 2024 at montane.com and at selected retailers, with the Torren Jacket following later in August 2024.
