Mathews Team Shooter Jimmy Lutz Wins NFAA Men’s Championship

This weekend marked the 40th Annual Western Classic Trail shoot 30th annual NFAA marked 3D National Championship located at the Straight Arrow Bowhunters Club in Redding, CA. The grueling three-day event is the world’s largest 3D competition, where many of the best archers compete every year to claim a spot on one of the most coveted podiums in archery.

Mathews Team Shooter Jimmy Lutz claimed top honors in the Adult Male Freestyle Championship shooting the Mathews TITLE 38. Despite battling adverse weather conditions throughout the weekend, Lutz managed to set a new course record only dropping 1 point during the difficult 70 target course.

Lutz found himself in a single arrow tie break shootoff against pro shooter Mike Schloesser on the final day of the event. Lutz’s arrow landed closest to the center on the target at 88 yards, successfully securing the victory for Team Mathews.

“This style of event is mentally and physically draining,” stated Lutz. “Nine hours of focus for three straight days with unexpected weather conditions. Preparation for this event was a breeze with the TITLE 38. The stability and forgiveness overcame the difficult shots and angles. It is an honor to win one of the toughest and most respected outdoor shoots there is. This TITLE really can do it all”.

Overall, it was another great weekend for Team Mathews. Lutz looks to continue his success with his sights set on the Gator Cup located in Florida next weekend.
