This past weekend in Louisville, Kentucky, one of the largest archery tournaments in the history of archery took place. Over 15,510 student archers gathered at the familiar Kentucky Exposition Center to compete in Bullseye and 3D archery. In addition to the thousands of student archers in attendance who advanced from state tournaments in 31 states, more than forty-five thousand friends, family, and volunteers were present to support these student athletes!
As one of the world’s largest archery tournaments ever, 14,494 archers submitted scores in Bullseye and 6,445 archers likewise competed in 3D every 75 minute for 3 days. 3D archers took their aim at foam replicas of North American game animals including Turkey, Coyote, Bear, Pronghorn Antelope, Deer, and Bighorn Sheep. As a part of all three national NASP® events, random $500 bullseye scholarships were awarded to Eastern National competitors and selected students will be notified this coming week.
In addition to the Bullseye and NASP®/IBO 3D Challenge competition, The On Target for Life Awards (OTFLA), a program that recognizes students and adults who exhibit tremendous community and team service, courage to overcome challenges, and special academic achievements, were also awarded for their actions.
