Mark Charnot Named Chief Operating Officer of Big Rock Sports

Big Rock Sports announces the promotion of Mark Charnot to Chief Operating Officer (COO). In his new role, Mark will assume responsibility for leading the Operations, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and Demand Planning initiatives.

In his prior role as Vice President of Operations, Mark provided great leadership and helped direct the BRS operations team through several challenges. He joined Big Rock in December 2018 and quickly implemented the Achieve Labor Management Program to increase efficiency and lower operating costs. Shortly thereafter, Mark led the operational integration of a major acquisition and guided Big Rock through the COVID-19 pandemic, opening and expanding a new distribution center in Charlotte to meet volume and capacity challenges.

“Mark’s promotion to COO is evidence of his leadership, expertise in distribution and logistics, and agility to support the sales of our business and brands,” said Ed Small, Chief Executive Officer at Big Rock Sports and parent company, Peak Global Holdings. “Throughout his time with Big Rock Sports, Mark has demonstrated a proactive approach for solving issues, and a relentless pursuit of service excellence for our customers.”

Mark has extensive distribution and operations experience across many different industry sectors, including transportation, food and beverage, sporting goods, and industrial power. Prior to joining Big Rock Sports, Mark spent 22 years in leadership roles with industry leaders TTX Company, Coca-Cola, Nike, and ABB. Mark started his career as a CDL Driver/Salesman at Hayes Beer (Miller) Distribution in 1996 and worked his way from the warehouse into supply chain management at TTX, while earning his B.A. in Business Technology from DePaul University and his MBA from Purdue University along the way.
