HILLSDALE, Mich. — Hillsdale College’s John Anthony Halter Shooting Sports Education Center, in partnership with USA Shooting, hosted the 2023 Junior Olympic Development Camps from June 19-24. The camps focused on bunker trap and skeet and included instruction from USA Shooting Olympians and National Team members.
“This year’s camps were a huge success. The shooters were competitive and definitely there to learn,” said Caitlin Connor Royer, assistant program development and competition manager at the Halter Center. “It’s always great to partner with USA Shooting to host this event.”
Twenty-nine shooters attended the camps. They were housed on campus with meals provided by AcuSport Grille, the Halter Center’s restaurant open to patrons from the community at large. Coaches for this year’s camp included national team members, Olympic medalists, world champions, and World Cup medalists. In addition to training, campers received campus tours and a lesson on the U.S. Constitution and the Second Amendment from Hillsdale College history professor David Raney.
