The State Trapshooting Championships are facilitated by the Texas Trapshooters Association (www.shoottta.org/?start=5), a group whose mission is to promote the shotgun sports and wildlife conservation as well as introduce safe shooting to Lone Star youth.
The host venue, the Amarillo Gun Club (amarillogunclub.org ) has been a favorite of Texas Panhandle shotgunners for over 65 years and is the site of many trap and skeet competitions and charitable benefit shoots, featuring thousands of participants and onlookers. The Club has hosted numerous Texas State Championship Trapshoots.
