Iowa S3DA Hosts 3D Regional at Archery Paradise

Williamsburg, KY – With chilly weather and temps in the 40s, several archers from across Iowa made the trek to compete in the first 3D regional of the season. Iowa S3DA, in conjunction with the Iowa ASA Federation, held a 3D regional qualifier at Archery Paradise in Iowa City, Iowa. Archers from JaCO S3DA Team, Flint River Archery Club – Illinois Team, and Flint River Archery Club – Iowa Team greeted each other, got their scorecards, and prepared to compete.

John Ewinger, Flint River Archery Club Coach said, “This was a very well organized course that the kids really enjoyed shooting. Looking at how flat the terrain was, many could see that as an advantage. However, in archery, it can actually make the course more challenging. When there are fewer natural obstacles to account for, you really have to rely on your skills and precision even more.”

“The Archery Paradise course is absolutely beautiful! It is a great course for first-time or experienced archers. Even though the weather was less than cooperative, these young archers persevered and completed the course. I am so proud of each of them and what they are accomplishing. I saw lots of smiles on the range and many of the kids expressed how much fun they were having and how they couldn’t wait for the next shoot. For some of these archers, this tournament marked their first venture into 3D archery. It is very inspiring to see the children’s enthusiasm and watch the sport grow,” stated Iowa S3DA State Coordinator, Denissa Cornick.

Iowa S3DA is very thankful to each individual that helps this program to grow. A special thank you to Archery Paradise, Steve Lepic, and the Iowa ASA Federation for all the amazing support they provide day in and day out for the Iowa S3DA program.
