Hornady® congratulates sponsored shooters Sean Murphy and Greg Hamilton for their performance at the BFR Team Sniper Competition, August 9-11, 2024, in Templeton, PA.
Murphy and Hamilton took first place shooting Hornady 6.5mm 135 gr. A-Tip® Match bullets in their rifles and Hornady 9mm 125 gr. HAP® bullets in their pistols.
“This year’s Real World Sniper Challenge was a challenging but fun, match,” said Murphy. While marksmanship is important, the thinking required to apply shots is also critical. Having confidence and consistency in our bullets was key to our decision making and ability to earn points,” he added.
The BFR match had blind stages with varying tasks and challenges, including unknown positions, targets, and target distances. The duo finished at the top of the Open Division and had the highest overall score.
A-Tip® Match bullets feature an aluminum tip that’s precision machined and longer than polymer tips, which moves the center of gravity and enhances inflight stability, resulting in tighter groups and reduced drag variability. In addition, A-Tip bullets are sequentially packaged for the ultimate in consistent performance.
Hornady refined the XTP® design into the perfect competition projectile. The HAP (Hornady Action Pistol) bullet eliminates the serrations that aid in expansion on the XTP to create a sleek and balanced projectile. Precision-swaged cores and bullet jackets with industry-leading concentricity result in a bullet that delivers accuracy every time.
