Fish Monkey, the industry’s leader in performance fishing gloves and products, enjoyed what they called an “outstanding” ICAST trade show this year, with plenty of booth traffic as well as great feedback from the promotional staffers and dealers. Show highlights were the introductions of the new Old School Camo and Mossy Oak Bottomland colors in their most popular gloves and face guards.
“Our merino wool fishing and hunting socks were also a big hit, with many dealers adding them to their current program for the balance of their summer and fall seasons,” says Fish Monkey founder and president Tim Mossberg. “The new sock line is a perfect fit for dealers that are already in the higher-end sock business or dealers that offer a good footwear program. Either way, they saw a huge opportunity to increase their business by offering a premium quality sock line that is specifically designed for anglers and hunters, and is also made in the United States.”
ICAST is produced by the American Sportfishing Association, a national, non-profit trade association made up of more than 800 member companies and organizations who share a stake in promoting sportfishing for community and commerce. This year, the show’s 13,346 attendees came from all 50 U.S. states and Puerto Rico as well as 80 countries. This year, 633 exhibitors set up booths inside of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. For Fish Monkey, their international dealers were there in full force, representing Panama, Brazil, Guatemala, Turkey, Australia, Costa Rica, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates and Canada. Demand for the new colors along with new sock was strong with this group as well.
Also on display was the Hunt Monkey Mossy Oak Bottomland and Shadow Grass colors—new for Fall 2023—which also received a tremendous response from the dealers and pros in attendance. “We’ve set the stage for a very strong finish for 2023 and a potentially record-breaking 2024,” Mossberg says.
