BLACK CREEK, GA – Daniel Defense, manufacturer of the world’s finest firearms and accessories, announces the addition of three new executives to its leadership team, all of whom will report directly to CEO Rod Reasen.
Daniel Richmond will assume the role of Chief Revenue Office (CRO) and will lead the Sales, Marketing and Digital Commerce teams. Dan’s primary focus will be on helping the company build upon its impressive record of growth to play an even greater role within the industry. “I have known Dan personally for over ten years and firmly believe he’s the right person to help DD scale to even greater heights,” said CEO Rod Reasen. “He has a proven track record of bringing teams together that thrive in complex environments. I know he will help lead us in building and executing strategies that will set us up for years of future success.”
For the past ten years, Richmond was with leading broad line distributor W.W. Grainger where he led the highest performing region in the company as Midwest Regional Vice President. Prior to that, Dan spent seven years as a Sales Leader at United Parcel Service. “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to help the team at Daniel Defense evolve its go-to-market strategy via new product categories and further penetration of multiple sales channels. Working together I know we will win as a team,” said Richmond.
Jake Cason has been appointed CFO and will lead the Accounting/Finance and IT organizations. Cason joins DD with over fifteen years of finance, operations and corporate development experience across the biotech, drug delivery, diagnostics, manufacturing, consumer products, and wealth management industries. He has spent the last five years with Sorrento Therapeutics in Atlanta, Ga where he most recently served as Head of Finance and Operations. “We’re very excited to have Jake join the DD family,” said Reasen. “His broad experience and skill set are just what we need as we move the company forward.
“For years, I have been an avid fan and admirer of Daniel Defense,” said Cason. “I look forward to playing a role in taking the company to the next level.”
Cason will assume the CFO role from Roger Mustian who has decided to transition to the next chapter of his life- retirement. Prior to officially leaving DD, however, Mustian will remain as Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) in order to help with on-boarding his replacement while ensuring the company maintains the necessary focus on all compliance related matters. “Roger has been an integral part of DD’s Leadership Team since joining the company from Remington in 2011. During his tenure, he has been instrumental in building the necessary infrastructure for the Finance and IT disciplines, has led the successful implementation of our ERP system, built relationships and structure with our banking partners and served as the “go-to” person for all things legal/compliance related. It’s very fair to say that our company could not have grown to such heights without Roger Mustian,”” said Daniel Defense Founder and Chairman of the Board, Marty Daniel.
Dave Everett joins the company as VP of Product & Engineering. He will lead the Product Development and Design Engineering functions. Everett brings over thirty years of engineering, product development and leadership experience to DD. Most recently, he served as Divisional VP of Research, Development & Engineering with Spectrum Brands, a leading consumer products company. “Dave is an innovative leader who understands how to align various functions in support of new product development. Product diversification is a key component of our long-term strategy and Dave understands how to make it happen,” said CEO Reasen. “I’ve joined a company with a great brand, great people and tremendous momentum,” said Everett. “Stay tuned for some very exciting announcements in the immediate future and beyond.”
“I’m truly inspired by the hiring of these three executives,” said Daniel. “We remain a passionate, privately held family business. Rod’s done a great job bringing in the kind of folks that have both the expertise and cultural fit we need. I know they will help us accelerate our impact on the industry, broaden our brand’s appeal and make us an even better place to work.”
