A Girl & A Gun Names Sandra Woodruff as Chief Operating Officer

AUSTIN TX — AGirlandAGun.org — A Girl & A Gun, the nation’s largest women’s firearms training organization, today announced the appointment of Sandra Woodruff as Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective January 1, 2024.

“This announcement aligns with A Girl & A Gun’s continued progress in building our leadership structure and vision for the future of the organization,” said Robyn Sandoval, President & CEO of A Girl & A Gun. “Sandra has been a key contributor on A Girl & A Gun’s leadership team, providing coaching and operational support. Her passion and dedication to our leaders and members will further strengthen our position as one of America’s leading training organizations.”

Since 2018, Woodruff has played a vital role in the A Girl & A Gun community. Prior to accepting the role of COO, she served as the National Compliance Coordinator, on the National Advisory Board, and the Chapter Facilitator of the North Austin TX Chapter. Her firearms credentials include Rangemaster Instructor, Massad Ayoob Group (MAG) 40 Graduate, The Complete Combatant’s Deliberate Coaching Instructor, Texas License to Carry Instructor, NRA Training Counselor and Certified Instructor, USCCA Training Counselor and Certified Instructor, and Glock Armorer.

Alongside her success in the firearms industry, Woodruff enjoyed a distinguished career in state government. After working for the State of Texas for nearly 35 years, Woodruff retired from her position as Deputy Director of Fiscal Management at the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.  In that role, she led the State’s efforts to modernize the back office and played a key role in deploying an Enterprise Resource Management System across the state, ensuring the Comptroller’s Statewide Financial Systems were operating effectively, setting fiscal policy, and leading several technological transformations.  Shortly after she retired, she began consulting for state agencies and other clients, providing strategic and project management consulting on key initiatives.

Woodruff’s accolades include the 2016 Outstanding Women in Texas Government Award for Outstanding Professional Development, 2019 Texas State Agency Business Administrator of the Year, Texas Fiscal Officer’s Academy Graduate, Governor’s Executive Development Program Graduate, Fellows Program Graduate at the Center for Public Policy Dispute Resolution, and Project Manager Practitioner Certificate from the University of Colorado at Denver.  She is past president of the Texas State Agency Business Administrators’ Association, and Secretary of A Girl & A Gun Legacy, a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation.

“I am excited about Robyn’s vision for A Girl & A Gun and its strategic initiatives,” says Woodruff. “My years serving as Deputy Director and leading the State’s efforts to modernize, increase efficiency, and improve customer service have positioned me to help A Girl & A Gun accelerate its rise in the industry. I look forward to joining A Girl & A Gun’s executive team and helping the organization transform and grow.”

As Chief Operating Officer, which is a new position at A Girl & A Gun, Woodruff will lead cross-functional operations, including product development, member success, and growth operations.

“Sandra is a transformational leader with experience in process improvement, product development, and stakeholder support,” says Sandoval. “I am confident she will be a tremendous asset as we continue to manage our growth, scale our operations, execute our strategic plan, and support our members, ranges, and sponsors nationwide. I am proud to welcome her to our executive team.”
