Steelhead Outdoors Launches Scout 25 High Security Ammo Cabinet

Steelhead Outdoors Launches Scout 25 High Security Ammo Cabinet

Steelhead Outdoors, a leader in innovative gun storage solutions, announces the launch of the Scout 25 Ammo Cabinet. Built with the Made in USA quality you expect from Steelhead Outdoors, the Scout 25 Ammo Cabinet provides a smart and secure option for ammunition storage. It boasts four heavy-duty, all-metal, full-width, adjustable shelves and can be further customized with additional shelves, door organizer panels and exterior accessories like the Case Keeper or Bow Keeper.

Ammo is an investment worthy of securing. And some states require owners to secure ammunition. The Scout 25 Ammo Cabinet is 25” wide, 60” tall and 15” deep and weighs 175 pounds. The modular ammo cabinet is shipped in four boxes featuring six panels. The heaviest panel is only 60 lbs. so the cabinet can be assembled by a single person. Once filled, the cabinet will become quite heavy so it’s essential to anchor it to the wall or the floor using the included anchoring hardware. Because the Scout is assembled on-site, it can fit in places a traditional safe could never go. The Scout Ammo Cabinet retails for $1,600 and ships for $150 in the lower 48 United States.

Like Steelhead’s Scout Gun Cabinet, the high security Scout Ammo Cabinet is constructed with 14-gauge steel and patent-pending vertical beam locking technology. It includes a high-quality, UL listed Sargent and Greenleaf Spartan lock protected by a single layer hard plate. The vertical beam locking technology positions the ¼” carriage on end and is fully supported to prevent bending, offering increased security over traditional bolts or bars floating behind a sheet metal door jamb. The locking carriage has 8 locking points that will lock every few inches along the door and each locking point engages with 8 reinforced slots to thwart pry attacks. For comparison, competitors’ cabinets have simple 3-point mechanisms where they lock on the top and bottom with a small rod and lock in the middle with a rotating mechanism.

“Based on the cost of ammunition, it only made sense to create a Made-in-USA ammo-specific cabinet,” said Steelhead Outdoors Co-Founder Corey Meyer. “The Scout Ammo Cabinet will securely store ammo while firearms can be stowed in our Scout Gun Cabinet or one of our modular safes.”

Firearms owners looking for safes with fire insulation, thicker gauge steel and more security will want to learn about Steelhead Outdoors safes starting at $2,700.

All Steelhead Outdoors Nomad and Recon modular gun safes are built to provide security, versatility and American-made quality for hunters, shooters, and firearm collectors.

What sets Steelhead Outdoors’s modular gun safes apart is their ease of mobility and assembly. Unlike traditional safes that often require hiring specialized moving companies, Steelhead Outdoors’s safes can be moved and assembled by just two people, eliminating costly or dangerous DIY misadventures.

The patented construction of the Steelhead Outdoors safes features a dual-stage fire protection system that does away with the need for dehumidifiers. A radiant heat reflecting coating rejects incoming heat, and the metal interior, made from nearly 100 percent nonflammable materials, provides added protection. The ceramic fire insulation used in the panels is rated to withstand temperatures of up to 2300 degrees, ensuring optimal security for precious firearms.

Steelhead Outdoors safes feature numerous high-end features, including double-wall construction with 12-gauge welded, powder-coated exterior panels and 20-gauge interior panels, along with a 7-gauge plate door (3/16”). A fully modular interior racking system ensures limitless configurations of shelving and gun racks, catering to individual needs and preferences.

These premium gun safes are available with either UL listed Type 1 S&G Titan direct-drive electronic keypad for rapid access or the group II dial lock for battery-less mechanical dependability, providing customers with reliable security solutions. The slip clutch in the handle protects the entire lock mechanism from attacks, while the cam-over-center direct-drive lock mechanism boasts metal bearings at every moving point.

Steelhead Outdoors’s commitment to customer satisfaction extends to offering custom color options and configurations, enabling customers to personalize their safes to complement their living spaces and preferences perfectly.

About Steelhead Outdoors

Founded in 2016, Steelhead Outdoors is an innovative safe company offering the only American-made, modular, fire-insulated gun safe available currently on the market. Since they couldn’t buy it, they decided to build it. Steelhead Outdoors was created with the goal of building a safe that customers could, and would want to, take with them from one home to the next, or pass down from one generation to the next. Four years of research and development went into the flagship Nomad Series, to create a durable, lasting and innovative modular gun safe.
