The 21st edition of the International Custom Rod Building Exposition was another huge success for the custom rod building craft and industry. Held in Winston-Salem, NC on February 24 and 25, the hall was packed and sales were brisk with many companies reporting record sales on Saturday alone. “Many of the retailers told me that their single day sales on Saturday eclipsed their total two day sales from the 2023 EXPO,” said event owner and host Tom Kirkman.
The continued strong performance of the event appears to guarantee its future for many more years even if that should happen under new ownership. “I am nearing retirement,” stated Kirkman, “but want to make sure that any new owner would continue to host the event at the same level of quality and performance that the EXPO has come to be known for during these past two decades.” Details of any possible sale of the event have yet to be announced.
Nearly 40 vendors and manufacturers occupying 50,000 square feet of exhibit hall space attended the 2024 EXPO, making it far and away the largest custom rod building event in the world. For further information on the event, contact rodmaker@earthlink.net
