Bear & Son Cutlery Announces Licensing Agreement With BLACKHAWK®

Jacksonville, Alabama – Bear & Son Cutlery, manufacturer of premium knives, announced it has entered into a licensing agreement with BLACKHAWK®, manufacturer of duty-grade gear for military and law enforcement personnel serving at home and across the globe. With this brand licensing partnership, Bear & Son Cutlery is now producing BLACKHAWK® branded entry, survival, and cutting tools—some of which are made in the USA at the company’s Jacksonville, Alabama, manufacturing facility. These new BLACKHAWK® licensed tools are currently available online and through Bear & Son’s nationwide dealer network.

“This agreement will allow us to strategically develop Bear & Son Cutlery’s personal defense and tactical knife program, providing dealers with even more premium knife choices that meet customer applications,” said Matt Griffey, Vice-President Bear and Son Cutlery. “This is one of the most exciting licensing agreements ever for Bear & Son Cutlery. The name BLACKHAWK® is trusted by countless military members, veterans, government agencies, and first responders of this great country. Bringing this brand into the Bear & Son Cutlery family matches our goals of providing the best cutlery products that they can depend on.”

Along with distributing original BLACKHAWK® knives, Bear and Son Cutlery will have the opportunity to manufacture and influence the design process of new knives under the BLACKHAWK® brand. Among the tools currently available through the Bear & Son website that are under the BLACKHAWK® banner is a new butterfly knife, new automatics, a fixed-blade dagger, a tactical pry tool, a modified Karambit knife, and numerous assisted-opening knives.

Among the more intriguing items offered are the BLACKHAWK® Garra III, the BLACKHAWK® Dark Angel®, and the BLACKHAWK® Point Man®.

Karambit fans will appreciate the BLACKHAWK® Garra III. Featuring rugged G10 handles and a 2.25-inch D2 tool steel blade, this karambit-style knife closes to 5.25 inches (open length is 7.5 inches) and incorporates Bear & Son’s Sideliner Lock system. A pocket clip keeps the knife at the ready while the finger ring includes jimping for a secure grip with any hold style.

The Dark Angel® is a robust butterfly knife made with a strong D2 tool steel blade and skeletonized stainless-steel handles. The spear point profile offers exceptional balance and combines ball bearing washers and a spring-loaded latch system for smooth deployment and positive handle retention. Total open length is 9.75 inches, and the blade length is 4.25 inches and crafted in Jacksonville, Alabama.

Another Sideliner Lock in the BLACKHAWK® series is the Point Man®. Available with a standard or partial serrated edge, the Point Man® knives are assisted-openers with flippers and bronze washers for quick, one-handed deployment. Each knife is built with a D2 tool steel blade and black G10 handles with 420J stainless steel liners. This knife is available at all the military exchange stores for all branches by January 2024.

Look for these and other BLACKHAWK®-licensed knives and tools at most sporting goods stores and firearm dealers this spring.
