Scout Boats Expands Summerville, SC, Manufacturing Headquarters

Scout Boats is adding to its Summerville, S.C., manufacturing headquarters with a 37,500-square-foot facility that will produce components for the yacht division and support production of the new flagship 67 LX series. The three models that comprise the line will be unveiled at the Miami International Boat Show in February.

Scout expects the facility to be completed in the summer of 2024. The company also is expanding and renovating its office spaces, which is expected to be finished next spring.

“The quality of the product we design and produce here with our skilled labor force has continued to set us apart in the industry, and the demand for our product has grown exponentially,” CEO Steve Potts said in the statement. “To keep up with the demand, we felt it’s the appropriate time for this expansion, which will also allow us to expand our labor force from 475 to 600 employees over the next 18 months.”

Scout in 2021 completed a 21,000-square-foot building for product development and engineering.
